Raining cats and dogs

May 24, 2014

The bookings have exploded! Things have been steadily going up and up since our quiet February, and here we are nearing the end of May and we are pretty much full to the brim. We're occasionally having to turn away good business for longer stays in June as we simply don't have room which feels horrible especially when it's to Hilltop's long-standing and regular customers. I suppose it's a good problem to have and a sign that things are going as planned. Our team is now working really well together and we're looking forward to the arrival of extra kennel hands during the busy Summer period.

We also welcomed some temporary team members when we had four students from Market Field School in Elmstead Market completing their work experience with us. Although they were rained off for a couple of days (their tasks were solely outdoors), they really did well with taking charge of some fairly heavy-duty grounds maintenance tasks that tend to linger on the periphery of our everyday routine, and it's a real load off our minds to know that they've been sorted and we've done each other a mutual favour. They were hard working, focused and polite throughout. So massive thanks to those students and also to the teachers who supervised! We welcome the opportunity to do this again next year.
